Background: Raised together with her twin brother, Subaru, in Kyoto by their grandmother since their parents died in an accident. Both twins were trained to become Onmyouji, psychic mediums, but it turned out Hokuto had no talent for it. Instead her brother became one of the most powerful Onmyouji’s in all of Japan. When they got older they moved to Tokyo together sharing an apartment. Subaru had a lot of work and Hokuto took care of him and made sure he actually ate. But she was concerned that he didn’t have anyone he was attached to. So when Seishiro Sakurazuka appeared she was quick to latch on to the idea of getting them together, despite knowing the danger it entailed for Subaru. It turned out to be the biggest mistake of her life. Seishiro broke Subaru’s heart (and arms) and tried to kill him leaving Subaru in a catatonic state. Not being able to handle the guilt of what she had caused she set out to set things right. Even if bringing Subaru back meant paying with her own life. She died in 1991 at the hands of Seishiro Sakurazuka.
Personality: Hokuto is a very cheerful girl who makes the room brighten up with all her energy (or go silent with awkward stares in some cases.) She seems to never be concerned about what others think of her and always tries to go her own way. She is a skilled cook and good at sewing making crazy clothes for her and her brother to wear. While she always lived in the shadow of her hardworking brother she seems to have never been bothered about it aside from the fact she feels she isn’t such a good person as him. In truth though, she is a lot kinder then she thinks and would never back down from protecting her friends even if that meant getting in trouble with the police. She is a very open-minded person and stand up for women’s rights. While she hardly knows any Onmyouji spells as she really lacks any talent she was instead gifted with the power to understand what goes on in people’s hearts. This makes it so she seems to always know what to say when she actually is in her serious mood. Most of the time though she just comes off as a yaoi fangirl on a sugar high.
